My Approach
As an integrative psychotherapist, I work from a person-centred approach while drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices. These include Person-Centered , Gestalt, psychoanalysis, attachment, mindfulness, and trauma-informed approaches. This flexible and adaptive way of working allows me to tailor therapy to each individual, supporting you as you explore your unique needs and goals. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to support you in exploring and making sense of your experiences. I believe that the body carries important wisdom, and therapy can help you reconnect with what you need to heal.
I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful change. I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and safe to be yourself.
I came to psychotherapy through a deep curiosity about people’s lives and a belief in the value of counselling and psychotherapy. Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent 20 years in the corporate sector, which gave me a strong understanding of the pressures of working life and this helps me to support clients experiencing work-related stress and challenges to their wellbeing.

Louise was always willing to take the day at my pace. She saw me! Meet me at the level I was at and that was so important to me, not many people see behind the mask, the smile I wear. I spent so many of my dark days talking to Louise.
The days I didnt want to leave the house she gave me a safe space to come and sit and be myself, a goal, be it talking about my feeling or how difficult been a parent to two autistic children is. There was never any judgement. I was safe, welcomed and wanted.
Louise was always very profesional and yet I felt like I was talking with a friend at times which put me at ease, as I can be very anxious. I can honestly say after years of talking therapy I’ve never had any one like her.
I recommend Louise Connolly to everyone she is incrediable and I will of course return to her if my depression returns again
Working with Louise changed my life. Louise created a safe space for me to process my grief and revisit past childhood trauma so that I could heal. I had felt the weight of the world on me but after each session I felt lighter and more positive about my Future.
Louise provided me with the strategies and techniques I needed to develop my skills in coping and communicating my emotions. She has helped me alleviate my anxiety and regain my confidence. My relationships with family and friends have improved and I can finally get back to enjoying my life.
I would Highly recommend Louise to anyone looking for a Psychotherapist who is warm and empathetic
